CDC Milestones in Action

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offers a variety of free educational materials on child development for parents and providers. The “Learn the Signs. Act Early.” program includes printable handouts, free online training modules, and information on developmental milestones. The Milestones in Action library includes photos and videos to illustrate the social/emotional, language/communication, cognitive, and movement/physical development milestones for children ages two months to five years. Parents and caregivers can view the pictures and videos to see examples of typical developmental milestones, and professionals can use these images in training and awareness-building activities.
