Our featured resource comes from the National Center on Pyramid Model Innovations. Positive Solutions for Families: Family Routine Guide (Soluciones positivas para familias: Guía de rutinas familiares) is a treasure trove of information about all the typical daily routines, from “Getting Dressed or Undressed” to “Going to the Doctor.” Each routine is described in three to four pages, focusing first and foremost on strategies to prevent challenging behavior. Ideas for ways to respond when challenges do arise and tips for teaching new skills are also provided. This resource includes detailed instructions on how to use the guide as well as a handy “Family Planning Sheet” to use with parents as they explore each routine. What a comprehensive resource!
